All right! It's finally finished! The cats may have eaten my first attempt, but I struck back with a vengeance!

Not too bad for my second attempt at making anything from clay. I pushed two pinholes toward the top, cleaned it up some more, then painted it. I didn't want to risk shrinkage in any project, so I originally bought the air-dry type. No baking. But that also means that the protective glaze used on most baked clay wasn't exactly an option, so I gave it a Kamar Varnish. While it's not listed for use on clay, it IS listed for acrylics. Which is what I used to paint the clay.

Crappy camera is crappy. The varnish is holding up well, giving it a finished dry feeling (whereas just the dried paint felt...well, like paint)

So I used those two holes that I punched earlier, and made a necklace of it! It's a regular clasp and circle on the ends, and the beads are Snowflake Obsidian.
{Neo-Pagan Hippie Alert} And when I saw the Snowflake Obsidian beads, I knew right away that I would be using them for this necklace. Obsidian has long been used to heal the sacral chakra and bring mental clarity. Not only did the color play of dark and light remind me of Megamind, but it's known to bring forth the negativity of the past in a manner that can be worked with and worked through. It's a stone of positive (though sometimes harsh) transformation. Snowflake Obsidian is a gentler form. {/Neo-Pagan Hippie Alert}
But how does it wear, you ask?

Why, like this! At its full length, anyway. The beads do bunch a little, so I may later redo the beads and place a heavier stone/bead on either side of the charm to weigh it down a bit more. The clay itself is quite light. Or I may run across a better stringing material that's small enough for the beads and can tie around the charm nearly invisibly.
But wait, there's MOAR! As with most of my necklaces, I like to adjust them so that they press into the throat (try not to read too much into that...)

Mmm. Nothing like a little Megamind pressed against my throat. >_>
